Deuteronomy 32:27

were it not that I feared the wrath of the enemy, lest their adversaries should behave themselves strangely, and lest they should say, “Our hand is high; and the Lord hath not done all this.”’
Were it not that I feared the provocation of the enemy, Lest their adversaries should judge amiss, Lest they should say, Our hand is exalted, And Jehovah hath not done all this.
Had I not feared the provocation of the enemy, That their adversaries would misjudge, That they would say, “Our [own] hand has prevailed, And the Lord has not done all this.”’
Had I not feared the provocation of the foe, lest their enemies misconstrue it and lest they should say, Our own hand has prevailed; all this was not the work of the Lord.
Were it not that I feared the wrath of the enemy, lest their adversaries should behave themselves strangely, and lest they should say, Our hand is high, and the Lord hath not done all this.
if I had not feared provocation from the enemy, or feared that these foes might misunderstand and say, ‘Our own hand has prevailed; it wasn’t the Lord who did all this.’”
but their enemies’ rage concerned me; their opponents might misunderstand. They might say, “Our strong hands, not the Lord’s, did all this,”
but I feared the insolence of their enemy, feared that their foes would mistakenly think, “We ourselves accomplished this; Adonai had nothing to do with it.”
But I dreaded the sound of your enemies saying, ‘We defeated Israel with no help from the Lord.’ ”
If I did not fear provocation from the enemy, Lest their adversaries should misunderstand it, Lest they should say, Our hand is high, and Jehovah has not done all this.
But for the wrath of the enemies I have deferred it: lest perhaps their enemies might be proud, and should say: Our mighty hand, and not the Lord, hath done all these things.
But I know what their enemies would say. The enemy would not understand. They would brag and say, “The Lord did not destroy Israel. We won by our own power!”’
But then their enemies would boast. They would not understand. They would say, “We have destroyed these people with our own strength! The Lord has not done this!” ’
if I had not dreaded the taunting of the enemy. I did not want their adversaries to misunderstand. I did not want them to say, “Our hand is high-and-mighty, and the Lord has not done any of this.”
had I not feared provocation by the enemy, lest their adversaries should misunderstand, lest they should say, “Our hand is triumphant, it was not the Lord who did all this.”’
had I not feared provocation by the enemy, lest their adversaries should misunderstand, lest they should say, “Our hand is triumphant, it was not the Lord who did all this.”’
But I didn’t want ·their enemy to brag [or to provoke the enemy]; their enemy might misunderstand and say, ‘·We have won [L Our hand is lifted up]! The Lord has done none of this.’”
Save that I feared the fury of the enemy, lest their adversaries should wax proud, and lest they should say, Our high hand and not the Lord hath done all this.
But I didn’t want their enemies to make me angry. I didn’t want their opponents to misunderstand and say, ‘We won this victory! It wasn’t the Lord who did all this!’ ”
But I could not let their enemies boast that they had defeated my people, when it was I myself who had crushed them.’
if I had not feared insult from the enemy, or feared that these foes might misunderstand and say: ‘Our own hand has prevailed; it wasn’t the Lord who did all this.’”
But I didn’t want their enemy to brag. Their enemy might misunderstand. They might say, ‘We have won! The Lord has done none of this.’”
if it weren’t for dreading the taunting of their enemies— otherwise, their adversary might misinterpret and say, “Our power is great. It isn’t the Lord who made all of this happen.”’”
if I did not fear the wrath of the enemy, lest their adversaries should become vain and lest they should say, Our high hand has done this and not the LORD.
Were it not that I feared the wrath of the enemy, lest their adversaries should behave themselves strangely, and lest they should say, Our hand is high, and the Lord hath not done all this.
were it not that I feared the wrath of the enemy, lest their adversaries should behave themselves strangely, and lest they should say, Our hand is high, and the Lord hath not done all this.
Had I not feared the provocation by the enemy, Lest their adversaries misjudge, Lest they say, “Our hand is triumphant, And Yahweh has not done all this.”’
If I had not feared a provocation of the enemy, lest their foes might misunderstand, lest they should say, “Our hand is triumphant, and Yahweh did not do all this.”’
But then I thought, “My enemies will boast, ‘Israel is destroyed by our own might; It was not the Lord Who did it!’”
I could have said, “I’ll hack them to pieces, wipe out all trace of them from the Earth,” Except that I feared the enemy would grab the chance to take credit for all of it, Crowing, “Look what we did! God had nothing to do with this.”
however, I feared the wrath of the enemy, that their adversaries would misunderstand and say, “Our hand is victorious, and the Lord has not done all this.”
But I didn’t want their enemies to make me angry. I didn’t want their opponents to misunderstand and say, ‘We won this victory! It wasn’t Yahweh who did all this!’”
Had I not feared the provocation by the enemy, that their foes might misunderstand, And say, “Our own hand won the victory; the Lord had nothing to do with any of it.”
Had I not feared the provocation by the enemy, That their adversaries would misjudge, That they would say, “Our hand is triumphant, And the Lord has not performed all this.”’
Had I not feared the provocation by the enemy, That their adversaries would misjudge, That they would say, “Our hand is triumphant, And the Lord has not done all this.”’
except that I dreaded the taunt of the enemy, lest the foe misunderstand and say, ‘Our hand has triumphed; the Lord has not done this!’ ”
But I didn’t want their enemy to brag; their enemy might misunderstand and say, ‘We have won! The Lord has done none of this.’”
But I fear the reaction of their enemies, for their adversaries would misunderstand and say, “Our power is great, and the Lord has not done all this!”’
But I was afraid their enemies would make fun of that. I was afraid their attackers would not understand. I was sure they would say, ‘We’re the ones who’ve beaten them! The Lord isn’t the one who did it.’ ”
but I dreaded the taunt of the enemy, lest the adversary misunderstand and say, ‘Our hand has triumphed; the Lord has not done all this.’”
but I dreaded the taunt of the enemy, lest the adversary misunderstand and say, “Our hand has triumphed; the Lord has not done all this.”’
Had I not feared the wrath of the enemy, Lest their adversaries should misunderstand, Lest they should say, “Our hand is high; And it is not the Lord who has done all this.” ’
But I was afraid that those who hate them would fight in anger against them and would not understand. They would say, “We have won with our own strength. The Lord has not done this.”’
But I feared the taunt of Israel’s enemy, who might misunderstand and say, “Our own power has triumphed! The Lord had nothing to do with this!”’
but I feared provocation by the enemy, for their adversaries might misunderstand and say, ‘Our hand is triumphant; it was not the Lord who did all this.’

but I feared provocation by the enemy, for their adversaries might misunderstand and say, “Our hand is triumphant; it was not the Lord who did all this.” ’
Were it not that I feared the wrath of the enemy, lest their adversaries should misinterpret, and lest they should say, Our hand is triumphant, and Hashem hath not done all this.
had I not feared provocation by the enemy, lest their adversaries should judge amiss, lest they should say, “Our hand is triumphant, the Lord has not wrought all this.”’
had I not feared provocation by the enemy, lest their adversaries should judge amiss, lest they should say, “Our hand is triumphant, the Lord has not wrought all this.”’
except I dread the taunt of the enemy, lest their foes might misconstrue— lest they say, ‘Our hand is held high, and Adonai has not done all this.’
But I was afraid of how their enemies would gloat, how their opponents would get the wrong impression and say, “We conquered them by our own power; the Eternal didn’t do all of this!”
were it not that I feared the provocation of the enemy, lest their adversaries should judge wrongly, lest they should say, ‘Our hand is exalted, Yahweh has not done all this.’”
But I delayed, or tarried, for the wrath of (their) enemies, lest peradventure their enemies should be proud, and say, Our high hand, and not the Lord(’s), did all these things.
If not -- the anger of an enemy I fear, Lest their adversaries know -- Lest they say, Our hand is high, And Jehovah hath not wrought all this.
